EDGE : EAD Tokyo already working on next Mario game

I PERSONALLY hope that they are NOT making a "Galaxy 3". I think it's kind of absurd that people expect that. If there had never been a Galaxy 2, people would not be clamoring for a 3. They need to stop making "Sequels" to 3D Mario games, and work on a completely fresh, new 3D Mario game. Such as, God Forbid, an epic 3D Mario where you're actually traveling around the Mushroom Kingdom/World. Something we've never really fully gotten in 3D yet. Just a thought.

But I've had enough of Space Mario, thanks.

I'd say it's time to revisit Sunshine, just with worlds that "feel" more Mario and with the FLUDD gimmick being less of a thing (perhaps replace it with more power ups that enable free movement, like the Cape and the Cat Suit, because FLUDD was very important for mobility in what made Sunshine great, just that the spraying part was more than a little gimmicky)

Big open worlds like Sunshine, but more of a mushroom kingdom feel and a greater variety of power-ups.
