How about WiiU 2.0? Should Nintendo start over? Considering that PS4/Xbox1 started development few years ago, if Nintendo starts development for a new console now, Nintendo can get similar parts for cheaper or better parts at same price.
I suppose Nintendo would piss off the customers that just bought a WiiU, but there are ONLY 6 million (at a pace to sell 20 million lifetime) that has bought a WiiU so that's not that many people. Although Nintendo would be about a year or 2 behind PS4/Xbox1, they can potentially sell 80+ consoles if they can put a powerful but affordable console that has great 1st party exclusive (a given for Nintendo) with great 3rd party support (that can potentially be better than PS4/Xbox1 versions).

It's easy. Make the WiiU a handheld. The only thing holding it back is the lack of portability.
WiiU Lite. Same form factor of the WiiU gamepad, but totally portable with the hardware totally built in. Access to VC and eShop. Cloud storage and SD storage options. Boost the app selection through Android emulation. Now you got an iPad killer :)

this^^^ is what I have been thinking for a long time. However they MIGHT, might be better off doing that with their next system.

i would argue they should have done that from the jump. I thought thats where they were going with it anyway, i expected SOME kind of portability if they were going the tablet route.

oh, totally dude, but there is what is and what could have been. Sort of have to make the best of what than. even though they've said it the WiiU can support 2 tablets (altough they say no one is doing it so far) so maybe they could make a second unit that uses the existing console as like a docking unit and even boost the power of this said second tablet.
