Let's focus the discussion on "DISGAEA". Don't get me wrong, I will like to see the Wii version of Disgaea too because it will certainly make this game more popular.

You said there are more Wii owners who like Disgaea than PS3/360 owners. You may be right, but I believe the most of these potential buyers also own a PS2. Do you think they will purchase a Disgaea 1 or Disgaea 2 port on Wii while they may have already played them on PS2?

Not to mention Disgaea 1 port on PSP only cost 2800 yen at this moment and DS version is coming out. Why would they want to wait for the Wii version?

Disgaea 3, on the other hand, will be a better choice to port to Wii because of the limited PS3 userbase at this point. However, this task may cost a lot more money than we think.

Why did NIS develope Disgaea 3 for PS3 but not Wii at first place? I honestly don't know, but there must be a reason behind that.


I don't get the argument you're making. Are you saying the article is talking about a port of Disgaea 1? I get the impression that they're talking about bringing the Disgaea series to the Wii which would make Soriku's point about Disgaea 3 valid.

For any new Disgaea series, the Wii is the console that it has the highest chance of succeeding on. I can only assume that the Disgaea 3 game was too far along on PS3 for them to consider switching. NIS is a small developer and they likely don't have the resources to restart the game as the console wars resolve itself.

Btw, FE:RD isn't finished yet, it just got released in Europe so the 500k sales will only increase. Just because the image of the wii is that a lot of casuals like it doesn't mean there's no hardcore. FE:RD and other wii sRPGs sales will be higher than an equivalent sRPG on the 360 or PS3.

What I'm waiting for is SE to start bringing back the damn Tactics Ogre series...


 My bet is they don't bring the Disgaea series to Wii... but instead one of their other SRPGs... which really... same difference.  I mean i'd aruge it's all a shared universe anyway.  That's what seems to be the case with all NIS games though they don't state it explicitly.

Although if they wanted to they could probably port over Disgaea 1,2 and 3 all on one disc!

I mean, unless it looks better in person,  Disgaea 3 looks like every other NIS game... except the colors are brighter.  The same "Lets use the fighter, but change his hair, wow we got a new fighter class!" approach.
