I'm only gonna bother with my top 5 because after that it gets complicated with franchise ties, 'compilation' games, and other various bullshittery.
5 - Megaman 2 - NES
4 - Donkey Kong Country Trilogy - SNES
3 - The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - SNES
2 - Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars - SNES
1 - Final Fantasy VI - SNES
After that top five, which is pretty well set in stone, we have my "Tier 2 Final Fantasy games", which is comprised of a three way tie, VII, X, and XII.
Then Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario World as one game, since I couldn't decide between Super Mario bros. 3 and Super Mario World.
Then my "Tier 3 Final Fantasy Games" which is a tie between VIII and IX.
then Skyrim
Then the Rock Band series as one collective whole
Then the Smash Brothers series, since I couldn't decide between Brawl and Melee
Then the Assassin's Creed series as one collective whole
Then the Ratchet and Clank series as one collective whole
Then the Portal games, since I Felt both were equally good
it goes on like that for like 35 entries. I like a lot of games, and I have a hard time choosing individual games, and I hate having a list dominated by "Ratchet and Clank 2, Ratchet and Clank 3, Ratchet and Clank 4, Ratchet and Clank 5" or the same with Assassin's Creed II, Brotherhood, III, and Black Flag. Or all three Rock Band games. Or Both Smash Bros Melee and Brawl. obviously not all franchises are good all the way through; the original Assassin's Creed and Revelations were both pretty bad by comparison, the first Ratchet and Clank is good but not special, the first Smash Brothers is nigh unplayable for me, not every Final Fantasy is a gem (coughFFXIIIcough), etc. So it's kindof hard to make a top five, top ten, top twenty-five, or fifty list without bending even my own rules.
