The majority? Most likely, but I, as a cashier, can confirm there are those who skipped the Wii and went for a Wii U.

 

Ergo, this: "without the need on another controller or accessory," still stands truthful, even if to a select few.

 

Maybe they don't, but they're a lot cheaper than the Wii U pad. If they've upgraded from a Wii, or already own Wii Party U however, yes, they have a Wii remote.
