With Open Source Bugs and stuff like that is fixed within minutes after someone finds it. Closed source takes forever - especially with Smartphones. You wait months and months until you get an update which may or may not resolve some issues. 

Granted, very few people use Android that way and the systems of manufacturers like Sony, Samsung etc. also don't get updates for quite a while. But the fact remains that Open Source is better than closed source in many ways. You at least haave the option to get yourself some other Android on your phone if you wish to and invest some time. Closed source software my have some things going for it, but not enough to outweigh everything else imo.
