He was probably all like, "sshh, quiet down guys, I gotta pretend to apologize now!"
And, yeah, they actually were kind of funny, especially the one about Half-Life 3. I guess Steam fans didn't get upset enough for an apology.
This wasn't as bad as the tirades from Platinum, which I've been told were quite alright.
