Nintendo can't do much about droughts without 3rd party support. Imagine if the PS4 and XBO had to rely only on 1st party games for the year. It wouldn't be pretty. That said, it is 100% Nintendo's fault that they couldn't get 3rd parties on board. I'll give them a pass for losing EA because fuck EA, but what happened with Warner and Ubisoft?Arkham Knight and AC Unity are skipping the platform entirely. They might still get that rumored last gen Assassins Creed game but that only hammers home the fact that the WiiU is a last gen console.
Nintendo can't do anything to reverse this trend, just hope that Smash Bros and Mario Kart bring in enough money to avoid more losses. Try to get a new console out as quickly as possible since it's clear that the WiiU isn't going anywhere.
