A lot of people believe that.  There is still questions unanswered.  They could esily make it be a sequel rather than a prequel.  I still 100% believe locuss are man made and Adam Fenix is one of the scientists who was working on them.

yeah, that is what I thought too.  I thought that adam fenix and his wife were doing experiments and in the process turned her into the locust queen and then she created the rest of the locusts.  It seemed to be the big reveal they were building towards... and then nothing.  

If they do another Gears, my guess is it will have to take place a long time after the events of the first trilogy.   Whatever they do, I'm hopefully they do a better job building out the plot ahead of time, the first gears trilogy's plot seemed to be built on the fly.  Not that they weren't great games, but a cohesive storyline probably wasn't their best feature.
