Higher quality parts/better overall design, I haven't owned my 3DS for two years and both shoulder buttons are malfunctioning. Plus there's that issue with the bottom screen border scratching the top screen, horrible design mistake. I expect my Nintendo handhelds to last 20 years or longer if I take care of them.
