If you have a computer in the first place, you can pretty much deduct the cost of that from the mention $1000. Why? Because you already paid for your computer and the difference between what you paid and the mentioned $1000 is what you paid for your computer's gaming capabilities. Pay $400 for your computer? The cost of gaming capabilities is $1000-$400=$600. And if you're poor enough that you can't have a computer at all, I doubt you have enough money to be gaming at all.
