Sure because Chicago is a closed entity and it totally doesn't matter that you can get a gun anywhere else. Singular local gun restrictions don't do shit. Especially not in a country with such a gun culture. I've read up on the laws and they are still less restrictive than other countries. The mindset has to change as well. Which will probably not happen anytime soon. The USA can change but it will take a lot of time. Gun regulation is one part of the process. |
Yes, and the US is a closed entity that cant have guns smuggled in from russia, mexico, and other countries. or did you not read the article I just posted? Guns will be a part of american culture for a very long time, and are only gaining more popularity with citizens, not less.
the problem with gun deaths in america is not the guns, but the gangs, and the funding they get from the sale of illegal drugs and black market items. legalize the drugs, remove the black markets, and you eremove the need for gangs and for gangs to have gang warefare.
Edit: I will add that the US is very different from European countries when it comes to border protection, in that we have none. Our southern border is a joke, and people daily come across illegaly, their is massive drug smuggling from the southern border, and until the government decides to fix that any change in domestic gun laws will only effect law abiding citezens. Guns will still be easy to buy on the street. If they do choose to defend the border, than gangs would loose the ability to have black markets in which to make money, and gun violence will once again drop and poeple will not care that we have guns any more.
