Sure because Chicago is a closed entity and it totally doesn't matter that you can get a gun anywhere else. Singular local gun restrictions don't do shit. Especially not in a country with such a gun culture. I've read up on the laws and they are still less restrictive than other countries.
The mindset has to change as well. Which will probably not happen anytime soon. The USA can change but it will take a lot of time. Gun regulation is one part of the process.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
