And while I realize some of the truly OCD will lament the non-matching spine labels in their collections, SCE already did this before when they swapped the red labels for black ones. The games I keep on the shelves are organized by genre and then year. If I really wanted those labels to match, then I could just do it by year and then genre.
As for the issue of consumer confusion, without talking down to people like they're idiots, the spine and the front are clearly marked with "PS3" or "PS4" regardless of what color the bar is. If someone can't read, then they're just going to have to learn to recognize the symbols or ask a clerk. |
I bumped this because they are going back to black, with consumer confusion being the main reason for the second change.

I'm going with enough people complained about the change rather than enough people said they were confused about which game to buy seeing as how the revised labels never even made it to shelves.
