Hm, definitely disagree with you on this one. Order of Ecclesia is up there as my favorite Iga-vania game, and Shanoa my favorite protagonist. #^_^#

On my list of favorite Iga-Vania games, here's how I'd rank 'em:
1. Order of Eccleisa (SHANOOOOOOOA!)
2. Circle of the Moon (This was my first 'Vania game, so I'm quite partial to it. The plethora of post content modes makes it the most replayable of the series)
3. Dawn of Sorrow (Actually played this before Aria [I know, my timing was totally off with the series], so even though the two are similar, I appreciated the DS features [aside from the somewhat gimmicky seal drawings and awful art style])
4. Aria of Sorrow (As I said before, I played Aria after Dawn, so it was a slight step back in terms of graphics, sound, and of course DS specific features like the always available map. So crucial!)
5. Symphony of the Night (Ironically enough this was the last 'Vania game I've played. While it's easy to see why it's a masterpiece, and I do adore it, it has shown some age compared to the more recent titles that have implemented awesome new features.)
6. Portrait of Ruin (The game tried to implement a lot of new gameplay ideas for the series, but I just don't think it worked out as well as they intended it to.)
7. Harmony of Dissonance (Easily the most forgettable of the Iga-Vania games, it took a step back in combat, story, and... well... everything. Still a good game, but it can't compare with the best of Iga's work.)
