I'm talking about Japan. Are you aware of YTD's there before you made your post?? 356k for Vita and 627k for 3DS. My coment was correct, if 3DS continues the trend of being down 50% it'll be below Vita (if Vita stays the same of course, but that's not the point.)

Yup. These are the worst 3DS sales in Japan since what.... 2011? Vita sales appear decent because they were 10k or well under for essentially 2 years, but they still aren't good enough to represent a sustained threat, especially as there's yet another 3DS exclusive Monster Hunter later this year, with Pokemon "Z" likely to follow next year judging by prior release schedules. One big game like that every now and then is enough to stay comfortably ahead, because the Vita just doesn't get those games.

But anyway, if you want to seriously suggest a scenario where Vita > 3DS for a sustained period anytime soon without any truly major franchise support, we'll just stick you over in the corner with Gilgamesh.

Ah so the recent trends mean nothing to you, ok. You never would have predicted 3DS would be down 50% YoY on average weekly, and you despite this happening you don't entertain the idea it could happen again? What did pokemon ect do for 3DS exactly? The console has been down YOY for ages now. There is nothing to suggest 3DS doesn't fall to 20k weekly in Japan next year (which isn't even down 50%) and the Vita sustains around the level. Heck it already is without software.

Don't try and make out it's an outlandish claim, I've already proven you wrong once. Also don't forget that PSP took off late in Japan but when it did, it was a powerhouse.
