The GBA didnt have competition though. Nintendo cant launch a new console just as the opposition is at full momentum. It would be ignored. I imagine in 2015 the ps4 will be getting all its biggest games.

2017 would be a better time for a Wii U successor, as both the PS4 and XO would have peaked and probably beginning to decline. Prior to that they could release a new  handheld I guess. 2015 would be a good time for the 3DS successor.
