Okay, first of all: FF XIII pulled 2 millions, yes. Not even the half of the PS3 sales. And it went all the way down for XIII-2 ant Lightning Returns. Catherine ? Really ? Yeah, because Persona 4: Arena was such a hit, and such an important game for Atlus. Almost as important as Persona Dance All Night. Deadly Premonition ? And what is the TV show that inspired Deadly Premonition ? Twin Peaks. And wher did Twin Peaks have quite some success ? Just think about it. Dark Souls was made by a Japanese studio all right. But it's a WRPG made by a Japanese Studio, seriously. And Dark Souls I/II sold twice as much on the PS3.
Also, Valkyria Chronicles, Tales of Xillia, and Demon's Souls are PS3 exclusives. And they are ALL million sellers. Blue Dragon, Tales of Vesperia and Lost Odyssey ? Nope.
JRPGs aren't doing that well on the 360. |
You are just changing the subject to fit your needs. FF XIII pulled enough copies to justify XIII-2. XIII-2 pulled enough copies to justify Lightning Returns. Now I'm pretty sure that Lightning Returns don't justify anything, but the sales of Fabula Nova Cristaliare or whatever is writen justifies XV being on Xbox One, despite the numbers and fanbase of these eight generation consoles being quite telling. Think about that.
Catherine, for such a niche, new, strange take on japanese games sold great on 360. Half the Ps3 version, but that doesn't mean anything. It sold great whoever you want to put it. It sold great so that Atlus tried again with P4A on 360. That's a fact. Surely, it is not that important for Atlus blablabla. The thing is they did.
Deadly Premonition sold enough to make D4 exclusive to Xbox One. Think about that, whatever was going on with Twin Peaks is relative, since Alan Wake didn't sell that great to begin with.
Dark Souls is a japanese game, no matter how you want to mask it. You don't get more japanese than Demon's/Dark Souls, no matter if you think the "leveling up" system is a WRPG standards. Insane legs on 360 for a console that JRPGs don't sell great, don't you think? That considering a year ago or something like that it was at 500k.
I never argued about JRPGs selling better on Ps3, unfortunately, so your last point is moot. What you're proving with that is that Ps3 don't have great sales on JRPGs either, because as I told, Lost Odyssey is the sixth best selling exclusive JRPG.
Imagine the amount of exclusive Ps3 JRPGs below Lost Odyssey. Such a disaster, wow. JRPGs are so dead on Ps3.
