This is kinda weird to say but the 3D effect is one of the main reason why I play 3D Land. The other is the special world challenge which is quite challenging when attempting to get the star coins (well for me at least).
I only have 3D Land and Pokemon X (but not with me so I can't trade or battle 
) and Pokemon X's 3D is a little underwhelming compared to 3D Land.
And if you think 3D Land has underwhelming 3D effects, then you haven't clicked down on the D pad during the levels to activate the deeper 3D effect!
