I disagree. They aren't obligated to take focus away from games in a live conference, and they often spend Direct time talking about services and other things unrelated to games, anyway.
Directs are shorter, I'll give you that. But we already get 5+ major Directs each year and this is the only opportunity for a "live" Direct, so I say go for it.
