I agree that this Indie craze is temporary.
Look all the Indie games right now. Most start on the PC or mobile devices and get ported to consoles. There are very few original indie titles that originate on consoles.
Sony made a big deal about Indie innovation for the PS4. To date, it has been more of a recycling exercise than about creativity and innovation.
