Based on the investor's meeting, I'd say this is a very UNrealistic bomb. It might work, but it's directly against what they talked about in the meeting. They want to emphasize the gamepad, so future titles are going to make great use of it. A better bomb would be keep the gamepad, bundle Super Smash Bros. and a pro controller. That's what everyone will want to play Smash Bros. with. Then, at the same time, run a deal where if you buy either Mario Kart or Smash Bros. and have it registered with Club Nintendo, you get $30 off the other game. Buy one, get one half off. Of course, if you got one of the games in a bundle, it still counts. This would open the deal to people who already have a Wii U, and would allow them to keep the gamepad included while still offering a lot of value to consumers. This would have a similar bomb effect, without too much cost, and without hurting their vision of supporting the gamepad.
