I just used up 2000 coins in the coin launcher, and I ran across something. You can't have more than 9,999 coins, so if you hit that mark, use them up, since any more that you earn won't carry over. Also, you can only collect 99 trophies (or, at least the number only goes up to 99). So, when you have collected 99 trophies in one playthrough of the coin launcher, exit the mode, and then jump back in.

21 more rounds of All Star until I'm done with all the characters...

 The number gets to 99, but you get more than 99 trophies, and is the same for the stickers. You dont have to exit after you get to 99 trophies, you still get more. I know it because I spent like 4000 coins in the coin launcher and when they showed all the trophies I got they were more than 200 even though the counter said 99 only.
