Don't try to understand girls tastes... I tried coming up with a different response to this thread, but in the end, when I think about what girls like and what I like, I get a headache.
I played a game recently called 7 Days to Die, and the guys would usually enjoy scavenging and killing zombies. The girls usually enjoyed decorating their lakeside houses and making sure they got the good furniture from the fancy houses.
I read a girl manga once which I could enjoy a little, and it was about a magic academy. The girls, instead of actually casting practical spells to destroy the monsters terrorizing them, would cast really flashy spells like making a rainbow appear. The more powerful the spell the more it would scare the monsters (NOT KILL) back to where they came from.
Girls are just something you have to accept as being different from guys. I consider things like twilight as being the girl version of the ecchi genre. Don't try to understand it just accept and hide away from it.
