I just realised if 720p is so horrible, how did we survive

I have a HDTV and I am perfectly happy with 720p games.

But dont lie to me, you would prefer to make the best use of your HDTV . If you dont care, it's really silly to buy a Full HD tv, you spent money for something you dont care...

It was a matter of convenience; the TV I got was $100 off by special offer, the brand I wanted, and the right size. Whether it was 720p or 1080p didn't even factor into my decision.

I regularly play games like Donkey Kong Country Tropial Freeze and Mario 3D World in native 720p, and I'm pleased with how they look.
