Planetside 2 vehicle revealed: the Valkyrie
Comments6There’s an itch in Planetside 2 that needs to be scratched. It’s helicopter shaped and there’s a tinge of Norse mythology to it. Yup, we didn’t know it but till this day we’ve been wanting the Valkyrie, a fast attack aircraft which is designed for dropping small squads of troops at the front line.
It’s coming this Summer.
Stop the little people from invading your colossi in Burden
CommentTall people are often harassed by small people for piggy backs. It’s a common sight at festivals and supermarkets with high shelves. The tall person will be minding their own high minded business when, out of nowhere, a low to the ground blur will leap onto them, trying to crawl to their peak. If the tall person has been properly trained then they will activate their shoulder-mounted cannons and blast the little person into meat paste.
Burden lets normal sized people experience what it’s like to be a tall person.

Julian Gollop: “AI should be a lot better now”
Comments2Responding to questions on a Reddit AMA, Julian Gollop, creator of the original XCOM, who is currently working on a remake of Chaos, Chaos: Reborn, criticised the lack of development in game AI.
“AI should be a lot better now,” wrote Gollop, “since the amount of processing power is huge, but I am not convinced it really is that better. The original X-Com had an AI programmed in a few Kb and was designed to run on a 80386 PC. I think the new XCOM does a good job, but it seems more behaviour based and relies a lot on the player triggering stuff. At least that is my impression.”
He had more to say about the state of game development.
Titanfall patch balances game and squashes bugs
CommentTitanfall’s taken over the internet of late. As it should, Rob gave it a 9/10 (even if Tim did call the campaign a “misery inducing failure”). And with all those players rushing in to play the game bugs and imbalances have been spotted all over the shop, something Respawn are addressing with this patch.
Nvidia’s Next Driver Will Bring Massive Performance Improvements In CPU Heavy Games
It seems that Nvidia has been working on a truly amazing new driver for its graphics cards. DinoZ: Surviving And Thriving In The Stomping Land
By Craig Pearson on March 21st, 2014 at 8:00 pm.
The Stomping Land sprinted into my heart–much like Jeff Goldblum fleeing the T-Rex in Jurassic Park–and I’ve been anxiously awaiting more news from what appears to be DayZ with dinosaurs. The silence has been broken! Not hugely. Not like the roar of a T-Rex with a bellyful of goat, but more like the squirty trill of the dilophosaurus*. The developers have been updating their site for the past week with more information about character customisation, taming, and tracking. Follow the footprints to find out more.
