Just wait it out till the holidays, I'm sure MS will drop to $399 + game. Might even be able to snag it for cheaper during Black Friday.
Not going to get burned on this one. Also, this probably means that there's no way MS is going to be selling the standalone console for $499 anymore, there's no turning back now.

This doesn't many any sense. Consoles are always going to receive price cuts, bundles, remodels, etc., regardless of how well they're selling. |
Yeah, I mean I got my NES with a free copy of Super Mario/Duck Hunt, Mario All-Stars with SMW when I got an SNES, DKC 64 when I got an N64, Call of Duty 2 when I got an Xbox 360, MGS4 and PAIN when I got a $400 PS3 (and that console bundled A LOT of free AAA games during its lifetime), Kung Fu Panda/Lego Indiana Jones with my second 360, Wii SPorts with my Wii, etc. Not sure about price cuts and their time range.
