Anfebious, you and I have been over this before. Needless to say, Nintendo has had their fair share of woes, almost all of which are self-inflicted. Hardware design choices that have resulted in sub-par third party support for the last 18 years has been their biggest problem. Fortunately, the Wii offered a good enough value and was marketed well enough to be a huge success despite most third parties treating it as a dumping ground for party games and shovelware. However, despite their struggles in the home console market in the fifth, sixth, and eighth generations, they are an incredibly solvent company that is in no danger of going away any time soon.

Yes, we talked about this lots of times but I still don't quite agree with your motion that third party support is the way to go. If Nintendo had to rely on third party support to drive their bussiness then it would seem that they are ready to surrender because there is no way they are getting their support. We already have 4 consecutive consoles that prove that point (N64, GC, Wii, Wii U), third parties are no longer willing to publish games on Nintendo consoles (For the most part) so if they had to rely on them to thrive they should surrender immediately.

I belive the best idea would be to reinforce their internal studios and think hardly on buying some studios to push their system by first party quality software.
