Trials Fusion's launch pushed back a week; all preorders come with closed beta access

Comment

Physics-mad FMX stunt game Trials Fusion is getting a closed beta tomorrow, March 21st, for everyone who pre-orders the game on Uplay and some digital retailers.

The full game launches next month, on April 24th, a week after its console launch. So the beta is a bit of an apology, I suppose.

Have questions about Sniper Elite 3? Slap your eyes on this developer Q&A

Comment

Attention, inquisitive people. Our Steve wrote a preview of Sniper Elite 3 a wee while ago, but you might still have questions. Rebellion thinks so, anyway. Maybe you didn’t have time to read his lovely words or maybe your question is very specific like “can you shoot a nazi in both of his testicles?” So Rebellion’s put together a Q&A to answer the big ones, and the first part went up today, covering community, choice, environments, AI and relocation. Take a look below, sniper people.

Positech's Cliff Harris on sales: "We are no longer selling products, we are selling discounts."

Comments14

You’re never too far away for a massive PC sale, whether it’s Steam or Green Man Gaming’s seasonal price slashing or GOG’s massive reductions across most of its library. Games you’ve been too broke to buy or you simply aren’t sure about become within your grasp or safer bets, and pretty quickly your digital libraries grows into a behemoth.

But it’s not all rainbows and unicorn kisses. There are concerns that frequent sales devalue games and stop consumers from purchasing at launch, limiting the chances of developers, especially of the indie variety, from being able to make further games.

Positech Games’ straight shooting Cliff Harris (Democracy 3, Gratuitous Space Battles) has weighed in on the subject in a blog post, and he makes no bones about his dislike of the trend. “t’s a bad thing, and if we can (and I think we probably can’t) we should stop it,” he says.

Diablo III servers in Sydney make for "smoother, more responsive" looting in Australia and New Zealand

Comment

Say what you like about Malthael, the Silent Angel, the Guardian, the Angel of Death, Architect of the Eternal Conflict, former Archangel of Wisdom, ex-leader of the Angiris Council. Say what you like about that bloke, but he doesn’t discriminate when it comes to eradicating humanity and the nephalem.

New servers have been deployed ahead of the release of Reaper of Souls on Tuesday. They should result in a “smoother” looting experience for players in Australia and New Zealand.

There is to be an official Planetary Annihilation tournament: Battle of the Beasts

Comment

Beastliness isn’t a trait much prized in high society - but that’s what Uber Entertainment are determined to reward in the first ever official tournament for their interstellar RTS, Planetary Annihilation.

A handful of the “beastliest teams” in the game will compete next weekend for a “unique (and beastly)” custom commander.

“Also glory,” note Uber.
