Sony does make a hit though every so often. So good for them and hopefully it's one you might enjoy. And they have a few more months yet before Microsoft releases to more markets. So they have that going for them.

This was already discussed. They have 1-2 points higher due to lower number of reviews. It's why a game like Towerfall Ascension has a 90 metacritic on PS4, because it only has 6 reviews.
People choose to review the PS4 version because it is the superior version. Look at last gen, how the 360 had the most reviews, because it had the superior multiplat.
