Update: apparently in the UK Xone sales were up 96% so perhaps 300k+ for one week isn't outlandish at all.

I definitely think we will see Xone go over 4m before the end of the month and possibly mush higher in the not to distant future.

Why would it go much higher in the not too distant future? The only reason it would do so is a price drop.

Q1-Q2 are historically fairly dead times for console sales compared to the big fall/holiday boom.

We also have two new systems at fairly high prices in a mediocre economic climate. What we're seeing are first/early adopters with extra discretionary income buying in, and most of those did so before Jan 1st. The continuing strong PS4 sales are a bit of a surprise, but PS4 and XB1 should continue to slow down as the % of buyers with $400-$500+ to drop + $XX online fee + $60+/game and so forth will be more and more accounted for.

Things shouldn't really get interesting again until the fall, when we should see new bundles, probable price drop, new titles, established libraries, more fleshed out UI/features, etc.

One of the real benchmarks in this race will be the first to hit $299, that's when a console gen truly starts cranking.
