Do people realize it's almost impossible to kill a douopoly console? (SONY/MS/XBox One)

Halo 2 was IRRELEVANT to your agument since the original point was about xbox and gamecube being failures. 

It's a FACT that xbox was a failure and NO GAME will redeem it as such in that light. 

Sure Halo 2 was irellevant even though its the highest selling game on the console and has the highest attachment ratio for that generation and came out less then a year before the console went out of production in August of 2005.  If Halo is so irrelvant I'm pretty sure every developer would like to release nothing but irrelvant games.
