With Tangled, Wreck It Ralph, and now Frozen, Disney Animation Studios has surpassed Pixar in my mind. They've really stagnated since releasing Toy Story 3 (which was masterful), with Brave and Monsters University being fine films (nothing wrong with them, but they could have been so much more, especially Brave), and Cars 2 being a bad joke.

The Incredibles ranks as one of my favorite Pixar films (That, Up, and Toy Story 3 are my trifecta), so I really hope they can do it justice. It's just that, with their current stagnation and their insistence to push Cars down our throats... I'm actually having doubts. Hopefully they can prove these doubts wrong.

Hear, hear.

Pixar was pretty untouchable throughout the 2000s (Studio Ghibli was really its only competition), but it's clearly experiencing a pretty hard fall from grace. Sequels, prequels, and princess stories? What happened the all the bold, original ideas?

It's weird how it all happened. By buying Pixar, Disney seems to have buoyed its own animation studios at the expense of Pixar projects.

Walt Dinsey Animation Studios is making some great movies like Frozen. Maybe Pixar staff are working for both studios now.
