Mostly because DKCR was fairly limited (Diddy Kong help only). It wasn't "the whole package" as it were.

The disparity between 3D Land and World is larger than the disparity between DKCR and TF, definitely, but TF is a game in much the same vein.

but what is the disparity? You really didnt give any information. You just said they were different. World added a four player option and cat suit. DKTF added mroe characters.

World had more characters, more bosses, better level design, better music, more unique worlds (since so much of 3D Land is recycled content, only two worlds of 3D World is such), and just a general sense of excellence that 3D Land never grasped.

TF is more about the characters, i'll grant, but also the more dynamic camera angles and such in levels that make them feel more alive. I know i'm having more fun with TF than i was with Returns, though it's been a while since i've played Returns (not since very early 2011).

all that sounds great. But that doesnt really come across in previews and ads, maybe you just have to play it to get it. But that brings me to my intial point. Are those the games Wii U needed right NOW. Cause unless you were a big fan of the older ones i dont see people plunking down the money for a console just to play them.

I did say "needed" not from a business perspective. These were games that needed to be made for people who played 3D Land and Returns, as both deliver on satisfying old problems with those games.

thats fair, but they couldnt wait?
