If you want a JRPG series that's milked, look at the Tales of series. ..and Persona 4. There's a tales game every 9 months with similar battle systems, and Tales of Xillia 2 is coming out in which the original is barely a few months old.

 

There's an enhanced port, two fighting games (don't mind them but there's really no reason to tie them to P4), the anime, but the Vita dancing game is the breaking point.

Spin-offs don't count!
