I don't know honestly. But I don't think they need to sell a ton of them for it to be successful.

I've been thinking about it the same way I think about Sim racing gear. How many people play racing sims? How many of them use a wheel? How many of them spend upwards of $400 on a wheel? How many people buy designated stands or cockpits for there wheels?

I know people who have multiple TVs and PS3s just to play GT. I'm sure they could find enough people willing to spend the money of a VR headset to make it viable.

I don't have any fancy setup but I've still got a pretty good chunk of money into gear just for racing games. For $300 or so I'd buy one to use with GT.

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
