Adventures wasn't bad, but I found Assault to be much more enjoyable. They both had their problems, but Assault captured the arcade aspect of the N64 game much better.
As for Other M, I never played it myself, but I watched my brother finish it. He complained about the Remote flip more than once, and we both hated the portions where you had to point the remote at the TV randomly. Not sure why exactly, immersion? It seemed to have to opposite effect for him, it just distracted him while he was trying to get somewhere.
Probably my biggest annoyance, though, was the upgrade system. Narrative aside, I hated how he'd occasionally (maybe more than occasionally, it seemed to happen a lot when I was watching), get an upgrade BEFORE fighting a boss. One of my favorite parts of the 2D and Prime games was that satisfied feeling you get after beating a boss, knowing you can get the next upgrade from it. It made it feel like the boss fights meant something more than just advancing the story. The missiles, Varia Suit, Phazon Suit, etc. were all trophies of a hard-fought battle, not just a reward for getting to Point 32 of the game sequence.
Oddly enough, he never complained about the story though. Though maybe he didn't have high standards for that part of the game.
