Nobody will know till its available at retail, I saw hundreds of people on every forum doom wii out of the gates as being stupid and "nothing but a gimmick and that may very well have been the case but it still went on to capture the worlds attention and be the best selling console, so until a new product has a market presence all we can do is speculate, just know that most of this speculation will be flat out wrong in the end.
Personally, I think if vr can't make a splash being introduced so early on in the ps4 (and possibly Xbox one) life cycle then it very well may never do so.
This is basically the biggest chance vr has ever had to be a viable retail product, its up to Sony and Microsoft to make it a success at this point, in both specification and pricing.
