It wasn't "good," though it had some positive elements that i fear will be thrown out because the game's reception was so tepid.
Namely, the perspective and Samus' general level of acrobatics and agility, as well as the Ninja-Gaiden-style takedown moves which felt incredibly badass. A more platform-focused, dodging kind of 3D Metroid game is really cool.
Aiming with the Wiimote was dumb, simply because of forced stillness and the general awkwardness of transitioning from NES-style wiimote to lightgun-style.
The story, i can see what Sakamoto was trying for, i really could, but that egomaniac needed to A) Let treehouse do their business on translation and not force a transliteration that comes off as VERY WOODEN to foreign audiences and B) Put more focus on how Adam and Samus did actually have a mutual respect (the passive-aggressive way that both of them expressed their relationship really made it come off very wrong. I could see what he was trying to portray, but it went through terribly).
Bosses were... excellent really. Dynamic, threatening, and never dull.
Graphics were some of the best on the Wii.
Music was too ambient, though. Metroid needs a stronger score.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
