Apologies for the late reply; I wasn't here for a lot of the day.

I regularly adjust my beliefs about how the world works upon the acquisition of newfound data. Being interested in physics and chemistry, it's more or less a given that the more I learn, the more my belief of how the world works changes to acknowledge what I've learned. It's more than just expanding what I already know; it's discarding past beliefs based on assumption and replacing them with beliefs based upon evidence.

I never claimed that you can change your beliefs in an instant, incidentally; just that you can change them. If it weren't possible, then there would be no conversions to and from religions.
