Its a noticeable difference, I'm reluctant to say its huge.

The difference between 480p and 720p was huge, its easy to notice when a game is running well below 720p.

However, its hard determine whether a game is 720p, 900p, or 1080p just by looking at it.

Ok, I can accept that as you are correct. "Huge" is an incorrect word for 1080p over 720p. I just think "noticeable" is not enough either. Just by looking at a game it is tough to determine what it is but if you are used to playing at 1080p and then go down to 720p it is hard to play, I can not even think of playing Skyrim on my PS3 anymore after playing it on PC
