either way, if parity or self publishing is that important to the indie developer, then chances are they dont have the resources to make a game anybody will give a damn about.  All this complaint is is just one more point blown out of proportion for the sake of the console wars.

That may be the most incorrect sentence ever written, particularly in the age of Kickstarter. It's not really a hypothetical situation or mere console war fodder when indie devs are already complaining.
