Hey guys,

I thought we need to talk about this:

According to Famitsu, the PS4 sold 30,766 units in its third week in Japan. That's approximately 90k units below what the Wii U did during its third week. When we look at launch aligned LTD numbers, the PS4 has already fallen 150k units behind the Wii U. Let's be honest here, this is a MAJOR flop. Not even the typical system-selling power of Knack can turn this console into a success.

Before the PS4 launch many people have said that Sony doesn't really care about consumers. Putting online multiplayer behind a paywall, among other things, indicate that this is the truth.

So can we still say that Sony doesn't care about gamers? Let's take a look:

3DS's third week: 96.463
PSV's third week: 42,648
PS4's third week: 30,766, but probably overtracked.

For further comparison, the Wii U sold 122,356 units in its third week. For Sony that's pretty much the equivalent of being proven to be dumber than an idiot. Now what?

When was the Wii U released? Was it in February? Or was it in the Holidays?

Was the Wii U cheaper at release than PS4????

PS4 will be a success in Japan just like the PS3!

Compare launch PS3 figures to PS4??? Or did u conveniently forget that????

Hasn't the PS4 surpassed worldwide Wii U sales???

All this without any really big super exclusive!

I think you should stick to Nintendo sales

The PS3 has sold about half what the PS1, PS2 and PSP have in Japan.

Japanese console market is shrinking fast. Where before Japan lead with console launches it now follows USA and Europe. Sony not launching in Japan first should tell you that Japan isn't the market it once was. I expect PS4 to outsell the PS3 in japan!
