I think it's time they offer an Android (or maybe even Windows???) tablet of their own with an exclusive Nintendo app store. Use emulation technology to ramp up the VC selection and offer HD versions of Wii and GC games. Have it connect to your TV with a little HDMI dongle a la Chromecast.

One other option I think would be to license the WiiU as a Smart TV OS. You wouldn't be able to play disc-based games, but can download most games from the eShop.
