It may only be very limited 3rd party games that are not on Nintendo consoles and I will always own a PC, so I'm not also putting out money on additional hardware.

"Very limited" is pushing it.

Basic PCs will require upgrading and maintenance to play games. It seems like you're finding excuses not to buy consoles competing with the WiiU out of sheer bitterness.
