Hold on wait a minute, how exactly was Xbox One's Launch bad by any means? This whole idea of a turn around is ludicrous because the only reason Xbox is doing all of these actions to drive up the value of their console, is because the Playstation is trending above the Wii right now.

Have you seen the Europe and Rest of World sales? It's not a pretty picture, and that's from day 1. PS4's record sales isn't happening in a vaccuum, a decent proportion of PS4 sales are happening at the expense of Xb one. It's only the USA that gives Xb one any measure of respectability in sales, and that measure of respectability stopped on 31 December 2013. Sure I think 3 million by 31 Dec 2013 was in line with expectations. But I think MS expected to be able to announce 4 million sold to consumers well before TF's launch. Now they are relying on TF to get Xb one over the 4 million hump, which Sony passed back in 2013. 2014 sales for PS4 ~2 million, 2014 sales for Xb one ~600K, 2014 sales for WiiU ~400K.

If Xb one sales were tracking according to MS expectations MS wouldn't be doing jack to try to increase the perceived value of the console. They wouldn't be bundling their premier title for free, and they wouldn't be officially cutting the price in the UK. You do that because sales are below expectations, hence the need to turn around those sales figures to bring them up to expectations (at least).

It may not be full on panic stations yet, but to think everything is OK with Xb one is delusional.
