I'm not sure where he's getting his notions from. Nintendo made it quite clear that QoL is something separate from their games systems and that they will continue to make consoles. And they said that they're going to showcase new stuff for the Wii U at E3. They seem quite willing to support it; I see no reason, at least currently, to believe that NIntendo will kill offf the Wii U anytime soon.
