The guy taking over the Devices division hasn't been too excited about Xbox in the past.
Also, would you be surprised if MS announced tomorrow that the Xbox division is being sold off? When that Amazon rumor was announced, most people weren't that surprised. If Xbox was so safe then there wouldn't be the possibilty of it being sold off.

Kinda goes against all the developer studios MS has made, their massive hiring spree, and purchasing of IP's like Gears of War and securing 3rd party games like Titanfall.

Exactly, why would they hire all these people and go full speed ahead? They are not going to sell it, only Sony fans are hoping for this and making up elaborate stories on why it will happen.
Sony's company and it's losses would make more of a story then MS. PS4 is doing great but that is about it for sony.
