I think the real question is: where have you been? None of this is news. Nintendo has ALWAYS been like this. They've been milking Mario since the NES days, and we got multiple Mario games a year in the early 90s. From the release of the first Super Mario game in 1985, Nintendo released a new Mario game every year in America except for 1986, 1987 and 1993 (and in 1986 they released the real Super Mario Bros 2 which was released only in Japan). In the NES days they had an illegal monopoly over the gaming market thanks the policies that forced third parties to keep their games exclusive to their systems, which played a huge role in the NES's dominance in the 80s. As soon as this was ruled illegal in the courts and as soon as friendlier partners and better platforms came along in the two successive generations, third parties fled them like flies. From a brief skimming I can say those problems mentioned have been endemic to Nintendo for a long time.
When it comes to DLC, all Nintendo is doing is getting with the times, and they honestly do it a lot better then many other companies do in my opinion. They've yet to have a $5 horse armor incident.
So no, Nintendo is not the new EA. Nintendo is Nintendo, as it always has been. I guess you are just now waking up to the kind of company they have always been? I also think you are overexagerating things like "evil practices" big time. Nintendo is still a decent company. Just very old fashioned and archaic.
