If a person wanted a bunch of VR headsets so that friends and family could enjoy them together, that'd cost an insane amount of money. I don't think that's a problem though. I absolutely hate this trend, but it's a rarity when a game offers local mp. The PS4 and XBONE are also solitary experiences the vast majority of the time. In order to actually play Killzone Shadow Fall together in the same room with three friends, you'd need to buy 4 PS4s, 4 games, and have 4 TVs. Just like with "social" VR that'd cost an insane amount of money. Didn't stop Killzone from selling 2.1 million copies or the PS4 from breaking records.
As long as the VR device has good marketing, it'd be an easy sell to gamers.
